Helping an expatriate and the family to find a new
home, and to settle into the new community, is critical
to the success of an expatriate assignment. If the
family is unsettled, then the expatriate will be unsettled.
Quickly moving into a suitable home will therefore
help to ensure that the employee returns to pre-move
productivity levels as soon as possible.
Relocations Kenya keeps in close touch with developments
in the property market. Prior to the expatriate’s
arrival, we will prepare a short list of properties
that meet the defined requirements. We will then accompany
the expatriate to view them at pre-arranged times.
It is important that our instructions are followed
as there is usually a shortage of many classes of
property and a quick reaction time is often vital.
Once a suitable home is found, we will assist in completing
the necessary formalities. These include lease negotiation
and the set up of utility contracts.
It may be of interest to know that there is no multiple-listing
system in Kenya. Our search for properties is undertaken
by personal contact with many real estate agencies.
It is also important to know that the tenant is responsible
for paying the real estate agency fees, on agreeing
a contract. These are usually equivalent to one month's
rent.
